Birmingham, AL – John R. Smith, PE, CFM, has been named Birmingham Office Manager of BWSC. Smith, who was previously a project manager and managed the civil engineering group in the Birmingham office, will oversee the daily operations for that office.
Smith, who joined BWSC in 2003, has 15 years of experience in conceptual planning, bidding, design, and construction management. He has extensive experience in the design of industrial parks, industrial sites, water and sewer systems, and has served as project manager for a wide variety of design projects. Smith received his MBA from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2002 and his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Auburn University in 1996. He is a Professional Engineer in Alabama, Georgia, and Florida, and a Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM). Smith is a member of the Project Management Institute, Economic Development Association of Alabama, and the Auburn Engineering EAGLES Society
