Sustainable Design
“Green”, earth-friendly, eco-design....there are many ways to refer to this concept which is growing in recognition in the architecture and engineering industry, as well as in the general population of consumers. It is a response to the world’s global environmental changes, in which our population growth, depletion of natural resources, and growing awareness of our impact on the earth, has spurred a call for action.
The goal of sustainable design in architecture and engineering is to design buildings and spaces with minimal impact on the environment, reduced usage of non-renewable resources, and an emphasis on a connection with the natural environment. It is more than just a trend in the industry today, it is becoming the new standard for progressive, responsible design.

BWSC is a member of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). The USGBC is a 501(c) (3) non profit composed of leaders from every sector of the building industry working to promote buildings and communities that are environmentally responsible, profitable, and healthy places to live and work.
